I would like to trade a broken wing butterfly in an IB IRA. Would the margins be any different from those in my regular account?

I trade BWBs in my IB IRA. The margin requirements are the same.
Keep in mind that to trade anything other than long-only positions in an IRA it needs to be an IRA margin account.

So you are not getting charged 3x margin in an IRA? I have been considering moving some IRA money to IB to trade road trip style trades.

Bryan, the 3x margin at IB is for futures options in an IRA (so 3x the regular SPAN margin).

I should have been more specific I'm trading SPX, not ES in my IRA
